8 Day Kilimanjaro Climbing Western Route you will trek the different kinds of vegetation enroute making the most adventurous route. This route is moderately tough and need at least second time climbers.

Kilimanjaro Climbing Western Route Details

Day 1. Transfer to Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, met and transfer to accommodation in Arusha, Planet Lodge.

Day 2. After registration Trek to Machame camp(9,900ft)

Breakfast, drive from the hotel in Moshi/Arusha (45minuts). After registration process, we start climbing along a clear trail through plantation and natural forest, thereafter a narrow forest path follows to the Machame camp(9,900ft), B.L.D

Day 3. Trek to shira camp (12,600ft)

Breakfast, ascend through the forest, steep ridge passing through heathland open moorlands, and crossing a large to shira camp (12,600ft), B.L.D

Day 4. Climb Lava Tower Camp, (15,090ft)

After breakfast, we will ascend to lava Tower, the alpine zone of the mountain, with the only plant life being hardiest of glasses and lichens, Lava Tower Camp, (15,090ft) B.L.D

Day 5. Arrow Glacier Camp (16,090ft)

Breakfast, then a 2 hours hiking distance will take us to Arrow Glacier. In the afternoon we will do some hiking to a higher elevation to adjust ourselves to the acclimatization. Arrow Glacier Camp (16,090ft) B.L.D

Day 6.  descend to Mweka camp, 10,010ft

We wake up early in the mid night for our last ascending to the summit, 19,340ft, then descend to Mweka camp, 10,010ft, B.L.D

Day 7. Descend to Mweka gate

Further descend to Mweka gate, the waiting vehicle will take you to Planet Lodge. B.L

Day 8. Transfer to the airport (JRO)

Transfer to the airport for your return flight, or proceed with the safari with us!

Climbing Prices Terms

Price Includes

Arrival and departure Kilimanjaro Airport transfers. Also, fee bust shuttle transfer Nairobi-Arusha-Nairobi if flying to /from Nairobi

Accommodation in mountain huts or mountain tents with mattresses we use the highest quality expedition tents of Eureka and MountainHardware.

Meals as indicated (B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner)

All park fees, including mountain rescue fees, government taxes and all applicable fees and taxes.

Services of a professional leading guide who is medically trained, certified, licensed and English speaking.

Services of English –speaking assistant guide(s), a skilled cook, and enough numbers of porters for your luggage, food, and water, and a dining tent.

Dining tent on the trek.

Transport from your hotel to the mountain, and back to your hotel

Use of radios/phones to increase your safety.

Group average of 4-6 climbers, maximum of 10

Discount is available for group of 3 or more, booking together.

Price Excludes

Items of a person nature such as passport, visa, traveler insurance, medical evacuation insurance (a 50$value)

Tips to guides and porters

International Airfare (unless explicitly stated)

Medical Equipment which can be rented well in advance for the following costs:

$250/group for hyperbaric chamber, $210/group for an emergency Oxygen cylinder and $140/group for a stretcher.

Porter toilet: if you do not want to use public toilets which some of climbers have been complaining about being dirty, then add 110/person (or $180/group) for a portable toilet. Kindly, let us know at the time you make a booking and not afterwards.

Please not these prices include a porter to carry the equipment.
